Drywall is a type of wall construction made from thin sheets of Gypsum (a kind of mineral) as its primary building material. Gypsum boards are coated with an encapsulation of solvents and water which allow it to be cut, drilled and sanded. The drywall panels can then be assembled using special fasteners that permit them to be attached to wall studs and joists without any nails or screws.
